And we're home!

Avril Veronica was born on Sunday March 25th. 7 lbs. 14oz. 19 3/4 inches long and just wonderful!
We got the thumbs up to bring her home this morning and she's been just an angel so far!

Family moving within 1 hour!

As long as all goes smoothly with the closing my brother and his family are going to be moving to Burlington soon! It's been a long few years of driving back and forth to see family for birthdays and various celebrations. I'm not complaining because it has always been worth the drive to be able to see my parents, siblings, nieces and nephew, but I can't wait for it to be much shorter (and hopefully more often)! Yipee!

My due date has come and gone

So here I sit waiting....

To be honest I didn't think that I was going to be overdue. I realize that being a few days overdue is not unusual but I just didn't think that it was going to happen to me. In general I am early for things or right on time. It's a rare occasion that we are ever late unless circumstances are beyond our control. I suppose I am going to have to get used to that with a baby coming who is going to rule my world. The only real solace in that thought is knowing that I'm not going to be sitting around waiting, but will be busy trying to get it (and keep it) together. My original plan was to take 3 weeks of holidays before the due date, but as it ends up I took a week in January to chill out and only 2 weeks of holiday leading into maternity leave. Thank goodness for that! I can't imagine this being the beginning of week 4 of no work vs. week 3. There's always the chance that I will be waiting for another week for this little one too!

2 down 1 to go!

My best friend Meaghan had her baby today! Her due date was April 10th but her son decided to make his appearance early! Weighing in at 5lbs 8oz. Her family reports that she and baby are both doing well. I'm going to head out to see them tomorrow at the hospital. What better place for me to be than the maternity ward in a hospital...maybe it'll rub off?

Chilly 1/2 Marathon

Colin ran in the Tim Horton's Chilly 1/2 Marathon in Burlington yesterday morning. This is the 2nd 1/2 Marathon he's participated in. He ran the Toronto 1/2 back in October. He beat his personal best time by 3 minutes and ranked 15th out of 84 in his class! I can remember hearing him say a couple of years ago "I hate running" and then suddenly he decided to pick it up and he's doing so well. His dedication amazes me. He goes out on the coldest, messiest days and also on the hottest, sweatiest days. I really missed seeing him cross the finish line yesterday and being able to get a good snapshot of it too. Seeing him accomplish his goals always makes me so happy and proud. Congratulations on another milestone!
