Snow fun!
Still sick as a dog, but found enough energy to take the Coop' out for a play in the snow. I *dare* you to try to take this stick away from me.

Fox in Socks
One of my favourite Dr. Seuss books is Fox in Socks
I wonder how many takes it took to get it right? I certainly won't be able to say it as fast as that!

Mmmm..winter
I guess I asked for it with that last post! I didn't really want the ice that came with this winter weather, but as we all know too well...you can't always get what you want.
It's been funny to watch our dog Cooper out in the back yard trying to figure out what happened to the precious grass that she's used to going on. She doesn't seem to like the crunchy snow on her paws. It'll just take some getting used to I guess.
When I got home for lunch yesterday I saw that part of the cedar hedge that lines the back of our yard had snapped. So we're left with a bit of a gap in the privacy that we have been so used to. Not sure what we'll do with that, but whatever it is it'll have to wait for spring. It's odd looking out and seeing the parking lot for the park that we back on to vs. the nice lush green (overgrown) cedar though.

All the snow is gone :(
I woke up yesterday morning to a smattering of snow on the ground and I almost believed that winter hadn't been cancelled this year. There was a chilliness to the air that was refreshing. Sadly, it rose to 7 degrees C during the day today and everything has melted away again. What a strange winter this has been.
I really feel badly for the poor kids who were relying on working at the ski resorts for the season. It's hard to believe that there are so very few runs open and it's almost the middle of January! I bought Colin cross-country skis for Christmas last year and between the weather last year and this year he's been able to get out on them a grand total of ONCE! That'll teach me to buy winter toys anymore.
It's nice not to have to worry about slipping out there right now, but I am a little concerned about the conditions. Could it be that we are losing a season altogether?

Spa Day!
I am currently on holidays and taking advantage of the free time to go to White Oaks Spa to use up what is remaining on the gift certificate that I received for my birthday. Going to have a pregnancy massage, an Asian green tea pedicure and a spa manicure. I have been looking forward to a day of pampering!

Allie is a Blog Newbie
I don't really know much about blogs or what to put up here, but here goes nothing!
Colin and I are both getting very excited about the arrival of our first child. Each day that passes brings something new to think about. Today's obsession for me is how to set up the change area in the baby room.
We've been spending some time doing things that we most likely won't be able to do once the little one arrives. For example...between Friday night and Saturday we watched all the episodes of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's cross country motorbike adventure Long Way Round . What a cool adventure! I'm not sure that I would be able to persevere on a trip like that.
